We have responsibilities to make sure that dams in our region do not pose an immediate danger to people, property and the environment, and any deficiencies are addressed.

The policy sets out the approach and priorities the Council will take in performing its functions in relation to dangerous dams, earthquake-prone dams and flood-prone dams in Tasman, and how the policy will apply to heritage dams.

The policy was adopted in June 2024.
